Have you ever changed something small in your life, such as having to put your keys somewhere different, maybe because you have a new handbag without a side-pocket, – and then find that you keep forgetting and going back to the old habit??
I am amazed at how long it can take me to get used to a new habit.
Well, figures commonly quoted range from usually at least 30 days (Rhonda Byrne of The Secret) , up to 13 weeks (Jack Canfield of The Success Principles) of repeating a behaviour before it becomes yours for life.
Yet, as the saying goes, “Your habits determine your character; and your character determines your destiny.”
Which is why I am really happy to congratulate the Leo Magan award winners of students who have made it a habit of taking personal responsibility of doing schoolwork, or learning something new, everyday, for AN ENTIRE MONTH. Presenting the ‘Daily Success Habit’ Award Winners:
Elger, Xavier, Su Qi, Dominique, Shawn, and Jun Hao!
Congratulations! You should be proud of yourself!
What a great start to 2012!
