Don’t know how to talk to your friends? Here are some examples or ‘scripts’. Put them up on a wall. Use them. Have fun!
I tell people what I want; I don’t repeat other people’s questions.
(e.g. The teacher may ask “Which CD do you want?”
I don’t ask myself, or ask my teacher “Which CD do you want?”. I tell others what I want.)
e.g. “I want Wordstuff CD”.
I talk to my friends about how to share.
e.g. “I take the pink play-dough, you take the orange play-dough.”
I talk to my friends about how to take turns.
e.g. “Let’s play computer first and then play play-dough.”
I tell my friends why I have certain ideas.
e.g. “Let’s play Wordstuff first because it’s fun”.
I listen to my friends. When I agree, I say so.
“I like … too”.
“I want … too.”
I say nice things about my friend.
e.g. ”(You made a ) Nice pizza.”
